Here comes the digital pound: the BritCoin
The Treasury and the British Central Bank have announced that the arrival of the “BritCoin” should take place by 2029.
“While cash is here to stay, a digital pound issued and backed by the Bank of England could be a new, reliable, affordable and easy-to-use payment method,” said UK Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt.
